For eSports games, not necessarily.

The 3300X being a 4 core CPU can sustain higher clock speeds which is beneficial to games that run on few cores like Valorant/CS:GO and so on.

If you want to get the 3600 because you value other types of games or need the 6 cores and 12 threads for other work then sure, 3600 is better than the 3300X!
