You probably didn’t pay the msrp for 3600x? MC now shows them at $200 now (was $190 on various sales) vs $300 for 5600x, hardly the same price.

I just popped in my FE3080 last night and ran some benchmarks. My 3600x is lowering my overall 3dmark score due to the CPU

Why worry; I bought the 3500 to put in the MSI Unify 570 knowing the 5000 series is coming out. 3 Choices. Not forgetting that a 3600X is a sweet spot.
1) You will have a spare CPU when the 5000`s are out. People do fry overclocking. Spare.
2) You can wait a little longer, & get the better CPU (see below) when the prices suit you.
3) You can wait for the next gen and go for the 5800X/5900X when prices are perfect.
Either way, you want to be looking at the better GPU First, as the 3600X will manage anything out today that is affordable. Spend the money on the RX 6900 XT which is said to be around or better than the NVidia 3080Ti which is double or triple the stated price (where I live).
