It works. I have tested on my Macbook pro 2015. however, you will need to have a way to format the drive in hfs+ before it is recognized by mac as a drive to install OSX into.

I know the 970 Pro works with an M.2 adapter. I wasn’t sure if the PCIe 4.0 on the 980 made a difference.
