PCIe4 is NOT needed for any video for at least 4 years. Any PCIe4 Video card will also run in PCIe3 mode. PCIe4 is needed for networking and storage cards, think quad 10 GB cards or multi SSD raid cards

In reply to Alex. the latest intel cpus don't currently support pcie4 only AMD does atm. hence why everyone preparing to upgrade to a 3000 series card is using an AMD cpu. above it means the motherboards are made by intel, but not using intel cpu.
